A friend came to us in a bind. A tree had hit his house. He did everything he was supposed to - write a letter to the tree owner that it was a potential hazard before it fell, filed a claim right away, protected his house from further damage, cooperated with the insurance company, etc.
But the "preferred" contractor supplied by the insurance company proposed a questionable repair: no permits for the structural damage, downgrade materials, and the homeowner would still have to pay extra money out-of-pocket over-and-above his deductible.
Luckily, he called us and we were able to help.
